It is recommended that Council resolves as follows: 1 That the report/attachments be deemed confidential and be treated as such in accordance with sections 171 and 200 of the Local Government Act 2009 and that the report/attachments remain confidential unless the Chief Executive Officer decides otherwise. 2 That Council notes the affordability analysis has been undertaken having regard to the City's adopted budget and Long-Term Financial Forecast 2026-27 to 2035-36 3 That the Mayor writes to and/or meets with the Queensland Government to seek a Queensland Government contribution to the project. 4 That a report be brought to Council for consideration at its September meeting providing details of potential additional funding opportunities that, if contributed, will support the delivery of an Arena in Southport and the commercial viability of the project. 5 That Council notes a further report will be presented by September 2026 providing an update on discussions with the Queensland Government regarding project funding and that the Request for Proposal process will remain paused until Council has considered that report.
